Q:
Why isn't my college listed on reviewum.com?
Easy
answer: There aren't any teacher reviews for your college, so click
here to add it!
Long answer: The site has been designed in a way to make the retrieval
of reviews very easy. We are trying to avoid having just one or
two reviews for tons of colleges. We want there to be hundreds,
even thousands of reviews for your college when you visit, which
is why we try to make sure that there are students willing to help
spread the word before we add a school.
Q:
Why is reviewum.com
free? reviewum.com has always
been, and will always be free. The site wasn't designed to supplement
anyone's income, but was designed to help us all get the best education
for our money. In order to offset the costs associated with maintaining
and hosting the site we've allowed advertisers to post
ads to a great demographic audience... you!
Every penny that reviewum.com earns from advertising is put right
back into the site. The money is primarily used for hosting, development,
and marketing. Please help us keep the site alive, free, and growing
by: 1:
Visiting our advertisers, especially the local ones, and letting
them know you saw their ad on reviewum.com
2: Reviewing all your professors and encouraging your friends to
do the same.
3: Telling all your friends and classmates about the site.
Q:
How is reviewum.com helpful?
The site is beneficial to students, teachers and colleges as listed
below. Students: During registration you have probably heard students
asking, "Have you had this teacher? Did you like the way they
taught?" etc. This site enables a more effective and efficient
way for students to do what they already do. The site allows students
to read and create comments on teachers' performance. Students can
discover which instructors have inspired others and which teachers
left students scratching their heads. Teachers: Some teachers will be pleased with what they see,
while others will have a different opinion. Hopefully teachers will
view these postings as constructive criticism, thus allowing them
to recognize how they may become more effective and efficient. We
expect that in the long run this will help teachers improve, providing
a better learning environment and promoting a happier working environment.
The following quote captures part of this idea: "When performance
is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured
and reported back the rate of improvement accelerates." -Thomas
S. Monson - Colleges: As teachers learn from their reviews (as
mentioned above) they will hopefully become better. We believe that
this will create an atmosphere of learning and growth and hope this
will help the school's enrollment and average GPA per student.

Q:
How should I interpret the reviews I read?
Each person reading the reviews on this site must realize that these
reviews are strictly the opinions of other individuals. These opinions
may be hugely exaggerated or right on the money. We expect that people
using this site will use it as another tool to aid in the achievement
of their educational goals. These goals vary with each student as
do the reviews and should be interpreted accordingly. As with anything
you read or hear, especially when completely subjective, please keep
in mind that the content may be biased or skewed based on a multitude
of factors. Overall we've been very impressed with the honesty and
accuracy of the reviews posted on the site.
