In my opinion: Dr. Dixon is a wonderful teacher. She treats her students like the professionals we want to become. The class is difficult because the material is difficult -- intricate with millions of details to be learned. Dr. Dixon also teaches the lab associated with the classs, and she does a super job of providing realistic guidance on how to work in today's clinical labs. Dr. Dixon is patient with students who are often lazy, selfish, and careless. She tells you outright what is important and what is not, and once you figure this out, studying for her exams is OK. A major problem for students is that we don't listen carefully and have a tendency to make assumptions. Dr. Dixon has lots of experience in clinical lab studies, including field work in other countries, and she shares that experience. She shows lots of interest in her students as people, not just as students, and she has a wry, subtle sense of humor. And her cookies after exams are good , too!
